McLaren Special Operations reveal the McLaren 600LT MSO at Pebble Beach Motorshow with bespoke carbonfibre components
MSO or McLaren Special Operations revealed a restyled McLaren 600LT out on the lawn at Pebble Beach motor show. It applies its usual combination of bespoke finishes and features on McLaren’s new track-focused Sports Series vehicle.
As is usually the case with MSO editions the 600LT did not receive any mechanical upgrades on top of the standard 600LT. However, it does come with some very bespoke styling elements, including a functional carbonfibre roof scoop sat within a new carbonfibre roof panel.
The roof scoop funnels air in from the outside then enters the cabin via an internal carbonfibre intake before breaching the firewall and joining the intake. Surprisingly, this doesn’t raise any power outputs; it does increase induction noise according to McLaren.
The MSO LT is painted in an exclusive hue paint called Stealth Grey. With contrasting orange highlights applied on the edges of additional carbonfibre components. Also, matt black stripes have also been laid down the centre of the car.
All three optional Carbon packs are applied here starting with the lower front bumper, splitter, sills, rear bumper, diffuser, side intake surround, exterior door mirrors and the wing. All finished in the stunning gloss-finished carbonfibre. Additional, MSO specific canards, front win louvres and roof are also carbonfibre too. The wheels are gloss black with the standard lightweight design.
On the inside, a similar aesthetic has been done, with the same Senna-sourced carbonfibre bucket finished in black leather with orange contrast stitching. Elsewhere within the cabin the centre console and dash are finished in what you would expect, more carbonfibre.
As one of McLaren Special Operations more subtle works. This 600LT still has the main focus of being McLaren’s track-oriented junior supercar. Although still represents the lengths that buyers can go to personalise their car.
